About Me: Capturing the Heart of the Story
I believe the best images don't happen when a camera is pointed at a subject—they happen when that subject forgets the camera is even there.
My name is Brian Dallner, and I am a Kitchener-Waterloo based photographer with a deep love for capturing the authentic, the honest, and the unexpected. While my specialty and true passion lie in portrait photography, I am a versatile creator who thrives on capturing stories across many genres.
My Approach: Connection Over Convention
If you have ever felt awkward in front of a lens, we’re going to get along perfectly. I specialize in working with "non-models"—people who want professional photography but don’t want the stiff, staged experience that often comes with it. I don't believe in forcing confidence before it’s earned. Instead, I see my role as a partner: we take the time to talk, relax, and find a rhythm that feels natural to you.
My process is a conversation, not a performance. I build comfort step-by-step. By the time we’re halfway through a session, most people are surprised to find they’ve forgotten the camera is even there. When you stop "performing" for the lens, that’s when the magic happens—and that’s the version of the story I love to capture.
Why Work With Me?
My focus is always on trust, comfort, and authenticity.
Versatile Vision: I bring a cinematic, character-driven eye to everything I do, whether it's personal portraiture or collaborative work.
Artful Storytelling: I don't just take pictures; I aim to capture the genuine spark that makes a subject, or a moment, unique.
I’m currently based in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, but I am always looking for new projects and new people to meet. Let’s create something that feels authentic, empowered, and entirely yours.
